Hi! I'm Carly Keyes, born and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. I studied at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to earn a B.A. in Screen Arts & Cultures from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor with a minor in writing and a concentration in screenwriting. I also took courses through the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.
I've interned in development for Will Smith's production company, Overbrook Entertainment, in programming for Detroit's NBC affiliate, and worked on documentaries for Detroit Public TV while maintaining my own videography business. Now, I'm based in Los Angeles, where I've been adapting novels, like Sparrow Migrations, and promoting my recently finished indie pilot, Recovering, and my album, Sober From You.
As a creator working within multiple mediums, I enjoy telling stories of recovery from substance use and other stigmatized mental health disorders as well as fusing my original music with projects. My personal and artistic journey is featured by The Huffington Post, the ASCAP Foundation, Since Right Now, MLive and A Healthier Michigan.
